Day 3 Recap - European Poker Tour
The action on Day 3 of the European Poker Tour Grand Finale at the Bay Casino in Monte Carlo moved at a fast pace with lots of short-stacked players quickly busting out. 85 players started the day, but there were only 32 left when the action halted in the Salle des Etoiles (which means "room of stars") tournament room.The top 64 players would finish in the money, with 64th place getting 13,270 Euros and 1st place receiving a 1.8 million Euros prize.
Andy Black of Ireland started the day as the chip leader, and he was able to maintain his stranglehold on the competition throughout the day. He finished the day with 709,500 in chips, while the average stack was closer to 330,000.
When the third day of play began, a third of the field was comprised of British and American players, with the countries of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark making up around 25% of the field. By the end of the day, only 12 Brits and Yanks remained, while the Scandinavian contingent was down to 7.
