Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari Star on "I Bet You" - MOJO Channel Features Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari and Phil "The Unabomber" Laak Prop Bets

Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari will star in a new television series, "I Bet You". The two will go on a cross-country trip, a la Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie. While road tripping, the two will engage in a series of wacky proposition bets.

"I Bet You" will debut on the MOJO Network. MOJO was formally known as INHD, one of the original high definition channels. This is part of MOJO's new identification with poker. It will also show the National Poker League.

Phil "the Unabomber" Laak is one of the young guns of poker. He is called the Unabomber because he frequently uses a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses to hide his face at the poker table. This somewhat resembles artist sketches released of Ted Kaczynski.

Of course, Phil Laak is known for more than just his hood. Laak is a solid professional poker player.

He won the World Poker Tour Invitational in 2004. He has made two other final tables on the WPT. Laak placed 2nd at a 2005 World Series of Poker Pot Limit Holdem event, eventually losing to Johnny Chan. He also defeated Phil Hellmuth Jr. heads up on an episode of NBC Poker After Dark.

Besides his play, Phil Laak is known for dating actress and fellow poker player, Jennifer Tilly.

The co-star of I Bet You is Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari. Esfandiari is an even more accomplished professional poker player. He was $1,400,000 at thh Commerce Casino in 2004. After that, he decided it was time to turn pro for good.

Later in 2004, Esfandiari entered the WSOP and won a Pot-Limit Texas Holdem event. He has won around $2.4 million.

Esfandiari and Laak are good friends and former roomates. The two share a room when on the poker tournament circuit. Their team-up on the "I Bet You" should produce an entertaining chemisty.

They will place three kinds of bets on their tour of America: A, B and C.

"A" bets are high dollar wagers. These will mostly center around new skills the two have learned. For example, one bet will revolve around which of the two gets more tips in an hour of bartending. A second bet involves the two playing roller-derby against one another.

"B" bets involve poker-related wagers. For example, the two will teach poker to random people. The one whose student does better at a game of cards wins the wager.

"C" bets are improvisational bets which one or the other makes off the cuff. One cited example of a C bet is a race to Danny Devito's house, or which one is better at panhandling for money.

All in all, it sounds like a pretty fun concept. If Paris and Nicole can pull it off, it should be no problem for these two characters.
