Sting Operation Nabs Illegal Texas Gambling Ring - Operation High Roller Arrests

A sting operation in Buda, Texas netted four arrests. Those arrested are accused of running an illegal gambling establishment. Police believe there are eight suspects in all.
Termed Operation "High Roller", the police raided three different locations. The cops seized eight-line slot machines which are the source of the disturbance. Two of the locations raided were local storefronts. The third was a closed down truck diner, which apparently housed the large majority of the machines.
The owner of the third location was arrested on charges of gambling promotion, organized crime and "keeping a gambling place". Two alleged accomplices were arrested on the same charges. A fourth suspect was arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon.
The locations were found throughout Hayes county, Texas. Hayes County is found in central Texas. The Hayes county seat, San Marcos, is approximately 30 miles from Austin, Texas. Therefore, the operators of this alleged gambling ring could have made a significant amount of money.
Authorities say this operation has been around for almost a year. All four men were taken to Hayes County Jail in San Marcos.
I imagine this is a sign to slot machine owners throughout the state of Texas they better watch out. People see these slots in convenience stores all the time. I've often wondered how many of them were legal.
Looks like people in Hayes County, Texas have their answer. Now, I'm wondering what other crimes went unnoticed as the local sheriff's men plotted this so-called "sting".
