UFC 69 Results - Major Upset! - MMA

For all you UFC fans out there, I thought I would include an update of what went down last night at UFC 69. There are spoilers ahead, so don’t say that you haven’t been warned.

Luke Cummo vs. Josh Hayes (Welterweight) - Cummo knocked out Hayes in 2:45 of the second round.

Marcus Davis vs. Pete Spratt (Welterweight) - Davis won after locking in an ankle lock at 2:57 of round two and making Spratt tap out.

Thales Leites vs. Pete Sell (Middleweight) - Leites won by unanimous decision after 3 rounds. All three judges scored the bout 30-27.

Heath Herring vs. Brad Imes (Heavyweight) - Herring won by unanimous decision, but he looked less than impressive against sub-par competition (again).

Alan Belcher vs. Kendall Grove (Middleweight) - Grove wins when he chokes out Belcher at 4:22 of the second round.

Yushin Okami vs. Mike Swick (Middleweight) - Okami wins via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).

Leonard Garcia vs. Roger Huerta (Lightweight) - Huerta wins via unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring it 30-27.

Josh Koscheck vs. Diego Sanchez (Welterweight) - Koscheck wins by a unanimous decision. All three judges scored it 30-27. Less than impressive performance by Sanchez.

Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Serra (Welterweight Championship) - Serra knocks out the champ at 3:25 of the first round. Serra is now the new Welterweight Champion, becoming the first winner of The Ultimate Fighter to move and capture a title. According to the Las Vegas odds makers, this was also the biggest upset in UFC history.

As usual, this proved to be another historic night in the UFC.
