World Poker Association - 9 Elected to Board of Trustees

The World Poker Association has elected 9 people to serve as initial members of their board of trustees. Founded in 2005, the WPT is attempting to maintain order and be the accepted governing body in the world of tournament poker. They are also trying to keep a certain level of consistency in how tournaments are played.
The first meeting of the board is scheduled for April 16th in Las Vegas. The members were elected to terms ranging from 1 to 3 years.
The nine new members are:
1. Chris Bigler - Has a wealth of poker experience, including being an original partner in Pokerpages.com. He is also a veteran poker player.
2. Annie Van Bebber - A recognized authority on the Internet, Annie is also the founder and CEO of Fundraisers.com.
3. Harry Thomas - Has won a World Series of Poker bracelet in seven-card stud. A veteran tournament player.
4. Lou Krieger - A highly respected poker author, he is also the current editor of the Poker Player Newspaper.
5. Marcel Luske - Named the 2001 Player of the Year in Europe. Has been a leading poker player for the past decade.
6. Warren Karp - A tournament director who has been involved in such top-flight events as the European Poker Tour and the World Poker Showdown.
7. Mary Jones - 2006 WSOP Ladies Event champion and possesses extensive experience in non-profit organizations and marketing.
8. Jesse Jones - WPA founder and veteran poker pro.
9. Wendeen Eolis - Experienced political writer and former adviser to politicians Rudy Guilani and George Pataki.
