2007 World Series of Poker - Bodog Odds

On June 1st, the 2007 World Series of Poker will start up at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are 55 events in all, with the most famous being the No-Limit Texas Hold’em Main Event - which gets started on July 6th.

Run by Harrah’s Entertainment, which purchased it from the Binion family in 2004, the event is expected to attract somewhere between 11,000 and 12,000 players, including pros like Phil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, and Phil Ivey. All in spite of much tougher online legislation by the U.S. government.

There’s also a new twist this year in the form of double-stacking, which means that all players will receive double the amount of chips that they buy-in for. For example, the Main Event is a $10,000 buy-in, but the players will receive $20,000 in chips. The end result will be even bigger pots and greater poker action.

The overall tournament runs for over a month, and this year promises to be the largest yet. To make things even more exciting, or friends at Bodog have posted odds on various outcomes. The maximum bet on each is $100.

Gambling on a gambling event - it doesn’t get much better than that.
