American Idol Final - Season 6

The American Idol 6 Final is this week. It's plucky underdog Blake Lewis versus the talented teenage phenom, Jordin Sparks.

I read an article on eog.com breaking down the final pairing. It looks like just about everyone thinks Jordin is going to win.

I'm not so sure, myself. I figured Blake would get voted off a couple of weeks ago. The fact he is Jordin's only remaining competition makes her a huge favorite. Though I picked Jordin to win the competition weeks ago, I wouldn't be that surprised to see Blake win.

If I were going to be on Bodog, I certainly would take the Blake bet, just on the odds given.

YOU GIVE ROCK A BAD NAME

One of the interesting things in the article is that Jon Bon Jovi wasn't happy with Blake's beatboxing rendition of "You Give Love a Bad Name".

Really, though, what did Bon Jovi expect? The whole idea of a cover is that the person do something new with the song. Who wants to hear someone do a poor knockoff of the original? Some work and most don't, but I thought Blake's version was at least interesting.

My guess is, Bon Jovi didn't like that the judges said Blake made it "contemporary". By implication, that means Bon Jovi's version isn't contemporary anymore.
