The Best of Daretogamble.com - Dumb Props Bets - Gambling Legislation - Fight Night
Welcome to another weekly installment of The Best of Daretogamble.com. In this segment, I direct the readers to some of the best stories of the week. This blog covers the whole world of gambling, so we should have something for every gambler.GAMBLING LEGISLATION
Dare To Gamble continues up-to-the-minute coverage of the ongoing internet gambling debate. Representative Barney Frank has introduced legislation to counteract the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Some in the online gambling world have criticized Rep. Frank's new bill, so take a look at the criticisms of the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act.
In a follow up story, we reported that Cardplayer.com was running a video interview with Howard Lederer and Alphonse D'Amato. Lederer and D'Amato two of the most outspoken supporters of the IGREA.
FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 71
Gambling and fighting sports go hand-in-hand. So Daretogamble offers a sneak preview of the upcoming UFC 71, which pits UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Chuck Liddell, in a revenge match. Liddell squares off with Quinton Jackson, a former Pride champion who defeated Liddell several years ago in a 2nd Round stoppage. Jackson is the only loss Liddell has never avenged.
If you prefer a traditional fighting sport, there's also a preview of the Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather fight this Saturday. Let's face it, we all figure Mayweather will school De La Hoya. I kind of wonder what will happen to Mayweather stepping up yet another weight class, though. Mayweather's power seemed to suffer a bit at the 147 level, so what happens when he steps up to 154? Oscar is on record saying he was outclassed at the higher weight against Hopkins, and he hopes he can lure Mayweather into the same trap.
More likely, Oscar gets whacked. Check out our Mayweather-De La Hoya coverage here.
GUIDES AND LISTS
I also offered a guide to finding cheap poker tournaments in Las Vegas. If you want your share of the glory, but don't have the bankroll, we've got you covered. If you want some Sin City action, but you just don't have a lot of spare cash, then read the article on cheap poker tourneys.
I enjoy everything to do with gambling. There's nothing I enjoy more than finding the dumbest online prop bets. Do you want to bet on social issues like the next Imus scandal or global warming? Do you want to lay a wager on Michael Jackson or Brittany Spears? This strange selection of bets has everything from Right Said Fred to the Scripps Spelling Bee.
BODOG
Speaking of proposition bets, there are the usual series of Bodog bets on the docket.
We covered a Rosie O'Donnell career prop wager, which sounds pretty strange in-and-of itself. If entertainment isn't your thing, Bodog has a couple of political proposition bets involving everyone's favorite current sitting U.S. president, George W. Bush.
Along the sports front, the field of the Kentucky Derby is set and the odds are posted.
And finally, there's our voluminous coverage of the 2007 NFL Draft and the team odds on the 2008 Superbowl. We have an article with grades for each of the 8 NFL divisions, along with the Top 10 Steals of the NFL Draft and an article on how the draft affects the 2007 fantasy football season.
Enjoy.
