A Good John Grochowski Article on a Bad Blackjack Strategy - CasinoCityTimes.com

Watch out for rogue betting systems.

It seems like everybody has their own system for their favorite casino game. If you look around the internet, you'll find dozens of so-called experts, insiders and gurus who claim to have the secret to gambling wealth. You'll find hundreds of amateurs who have their own tips or rituals they use when they enter the casino.

I read an article on CasinoCityTimes.com by John Grochowski, detailing one of the wackiest gambling systems I've heard about in a while.

Grochowski told about a friend of his who brought him a blackjack system he picked up at a casino. As this friend was walking away from a blackjack table, a man handed him a two page memo on beating blackjack.

The memo suggested you should use the same strategy as the dealer. Stand on 17 and hit on 16. Furthermore, you should never split pairs and never double your bet. Argh!

As the article goes, at least the guy doesn't have the audacity to sell his advice. I wondered for a second if the guy wasn't a casino employee. That would be a terrific scam.

MY 90-DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

Seriously though, every day people sell all kinds of betting systems. Most of these aren't going to make you rich. They are going to make the expert rich selling you the system.

If someone actually made all the money they claimed they do on their gambling system, they wouldn't waste time writing ebooks on the subject to sell for a few dollars. Remember that the next time you see a gambling system being shilled.

Whether it's the zig-zag method or the Martingale or the anti-Martingale, you are being told the house edge doesn't really exist. That just defies logic.

CASINOS MAKE A PROFIT? NEVER!

Casinos exist because they make a profit. They make a profit because they have a built in house edge.

The house edge in blackjack is that the player goes first. If you bust, the dealer wins. Even if the dealer busts and loses to the other players around the table, if you busted on your turn, you lose. That is a house edge.

If you employ the same strategy the dealer uses, you will lose your money even quicker. You lose several advantages inherent in the game to help lower the house edge.

I would suggest you read John Grochowski's column at Casino City Times. He's one of the wise men of online gambling.
