Hillary Clinton Campaign Song - What Will It Be?
Hillary Clinton is running for President, but what’s a candidate without a campaign song? That’s why the junior Senator from New York is turning to her supporters for help.
The American public is being asked to log on to her official website and help choose her theme song for the 2008 election. With her tongue planted firmly in cheek, Mrs. Clinton referred to this as “one of the most important questions of this campaign,” and one that she’s “been struggling with.”
Nine songs were initially listed, but the site promised that the leading write-in candidates would also be added to the ballot. You can even listen to the songs before casting your ballot. After preliminary voting, the following songs were eliminated:
“City of Blinding Lights” by U2
“Ready to Run” by The Dixie Chicks
“Right Here, Right Now” by Jesus Jones
“I’ll Take You There” by The Staple Singers
So far, there have been over 100,000 votes. “I turned to the American people for help in picking my campaign song, and they haven’t disappointed,” Clinton said. “From the offbeat to the brilliant, I’m excited that so many people have chosen to offer their suggestions and engage with our campaign online.”
Let’s just be glad that “Don’t Stop“ by Fleetwood Mac isn’t an options. As you may remember, that was Bill Clinton’s campaign theme in 1992, and it received far more attention that any Fleetwood Mac song ever should. But I digress.
Bodog has posted odds for the remaining songs. The max bet for this proposition is $50.
