World Poker Tour - Season 6 Schedule Revealed

The World Poker Tour announced its official Season 6 tournament schedule today, and there have been several new and exotic locations added to the roster. It’s a good thing, too, as the first event is only about a week away.

There will be 19 regular poker tournament stops, plus themed events like Ladies Night 5 (in which a group of hot poker babes play each other). Other themed events will be announced later in the season.

New additions include a stop on the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos, as well as a visit to beautiful Barcelona, Spain. Closer to home, many viewers will get their first look at the newly renovated Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Since the WPT was unable to work with France’s regulations, that country has been scratched from the list. It’s a real shame, since it was originally looked at as a perfect place to kick off the new season. Instead, the series will now debut with the Mirage Poker Showdown on May 19th.

According to Steve Lipscomb, Founder and President of the WPT, “By adding WPT stops in beautiful locations around the world coupled with our move to a gaming-dedicated network like GSN, season six is poised to be the best year yet.”

Season 6 will air Monday nights in 2008 on GSN. The full schedule is listed below:
