2007 Tour de France - Bodog Odds
The 2007 Tour de France will begin on July 7th and last until July 29th. It’s the world’s best known cycling race, a fact which has been greatly aided by Lance Armstrong’s seven consecutive wins. This year’s event will begin in London and then make its way into France. Broken into stages (from one town to the next), the cyclist with the best cumulative time will be crowned the winner.CONTROVERSY
Last year’s winner, Floyd Landis, tested for unusually high levels of testosterone and is not considered the champion by Tour officials. However, he is still listed as the winner and is currently involved in a campaign to maintain his innocence.
Charges of doping have plagued the event in recent years. Due to this fact, the Tour de France will now be requiring riders to sign a new anti-doping charter. Anyone who refuses will not be allowed to participate. The charter states that a cyclist who tests positive for drug use will pay a year’s salary on top of the standard two-year ban.
BODOG ODDS
So who’s going to win this year’s event? Will it be Russian cyclist Vladimir Karpets, who recently captured the Tour of Switzerland race, or will another American rise up to piss off the Europeans? Thankfully, Bodog has provided odds for the upcoming race. There are no parlays, and the maximum bet is $500.
