Age of Love - Kitten or Cougar? - Bodog Odds

Mark Philippoussis has a life that most of us simply dream about. He’s tall, wealthy (over $6 million in career earnings), a former model and a professional tennis player. The native Australian also has 13 women desperately chasing after him.

You see, Mark is the latest in a long line of semi-celebrities to star in his own reality show. In this case, it’s called Age of Love and airs Monday nights on NBC. Mark Consuelos serves as the host, by the way.

But wait - did I mention that there’s a twist?

Mark thinks he’s on a run of the mill reality dating show. As he prepares to meet his seven potential love matches, he seems nervous. He mentions that he usually dates women in their twenties. Suddenly, the glass elevator containing the women begins to lower. The tension mounts.

Mark gives a sigh of relief when he realizes that the women are normal and he hasn’t fallen victim to some sort of gag. Then they start introducing themselves, and the bombshell drops. All the women are in their forties!

They are referred to on the show as the Cougars, and Mark has a hard time hiding his disappointment. “Okay, I get it now. They’re older,” he says, still seeming a bit shellshocked.

YET ANOTHER TWIST

After taking several of the Cougars out for a date and, like in all good reality shows, eliminating one, Mark is then let in on yet another twist. Besides the Cougars, he will also be able to select from six women in their twenties (dubbed the Kittens)! As you can imagine, Mark seems very happy with this news.

I don’t think the producers of the show actually think that Mark will select one of the Cougars. I think they’re far more interested in watching the female contestants bicker and fight. Certainly, the Kittens will be smug and overconfident, while the Cougars will most likely be bitter and envious. This is what passes for entertainment in the modern age. Can televised gladiatorial games be far behind?
