Britney Spears' New Album - Bet on the Title at Bodog

While the masses eagerly await the next bit of controversy from Britney Spears, the blonde songstress is hard at work on her 5th studio album. It will be the first since her divorce from Kevin Federline, the birth of her two sons, and her subsequent display of increasingly bizarre behavior and visits to rehab.

And even though Spears has sold over 76 million albums worldwide - enough to make her the 8th best-selling female artist in American music history - many are wondering if she hasn’t lost her core audience of fresh-faced teenage girls. While she may be the only female in music history to have her first four studio albums debut at number one, this latest album may very well be the one which defines her career. Will she replace Madonna as the reigning Queen of Pop, or will she become a catastrophic punch line in the vein of Michael Jackson?

THE 5TH ALBUM

Her 5th studio album is expected to be released in the fall of 2007, with the first single expected in September. She has reportedly worked with producers ranging from Pharrell Williams to Sean Garrett. Semi-articulate producer Ne-Yo even went so far as to say that the album would include “songs about love, songs about hate, songs about whatever.”
