Mixed Martial Arts - Dale Earnhardt Jr. - Britney Spears - The Best of Dare To Gamble

This week's "Best of Dare To Gamble" is a heavy on the fight game.

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS AND BOXING

We start off with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In one of the Rich Franklin outpointed Yushin Okami to set up a Middleweight Championship match with the winner of Anderson Silva and Nathan Marquardt at UFC 73. Here are the full ufc 72 results.

The Ultimate Fight Night is coming. You might also know this as Ultimate Fight Night 10. This is a UFC-sponsored card for Spike TV. The two feature matches are Sam Stout vs. Spencer "King" Fisher and John Fitch vs. Roan Carneiro. We offer a full ultimate fight night preview.

Former UFC Middleweight Champ Frank Shamrock fights on Showtime pay-per-view at the Strikeforce - Shamrock vs. Baroni. He will challenge Phil "The New York Bad-Ass" Baroni for the vacant Strikeforce middleweight title.

Last Saturday, professional boxing aired a potential fight-of-the-year candidate in the Cotto vs Judah fight. The unbeaten Cotto knocked out Judah in the 11th round of a fight in which both fighters were bloody and beaten.

BEST OF SHOW

Meanwhile, in the wake of the Michael vick dog-fighting scandal, DareToGamble decided to post an article on dog fighting history and facts. This gives Vick fans and haters all the information they need to know about this controversial activity.

For a different kind of dog competition, we also had a feature story on nathans famous hot dog eating contest. After Joey Chestnut's recent defeat of Hall-of-Fame hot dog eater, Takeru Kobayashi, the Chestnut-Kobayashi rivalry heats up at the famous Nathans Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. Kobayashi barely defeated Chestnut in the competition last year, by a margin of 53.75 to 52. They actually air this on ESPN.

WORLD SERIES OF POKER

Daretogamble continues its coverage of the 2007 World Series of Poker. For an excerpt, check out our world series of poker 2007 day 14 recap. You can follow the links at the bottom of our recaps pages all the way back to Day 1.

For those who want a free trip to next year's WSOP, we directed players to the Milwaukee's Best World Series of Poker online tournament. The WSOP online poker challenge offers online events every week. The top point-getters each week qualify for an all-expense paid trip to the 2008 WSOP.

BODOG PROPOSITION BETS

We also featured another string of wacky Bodog props bets. There was a Britney Spears new album bet, where you can bet on the name of Britney's next album. Her website wants her fans to vote on what that name will be, and bodog has the action covered. My favorite album title option is "Panties".

Updating an earlier prop bet, we had an article on Dale Earnhardt Jr. The wager involved whom Junior would sign with. The winner was Hendrick Motorsports. Looks like it's going to be an unholy alliance of dale earnhardt jr. and jeff gordon.

GAMBLING LAWS

This site continued its exhaustive coverage of the ongoing fight for gambling freedom across America.

To inform the public of the ongoing debate over internet casino legislation, we offered internet poker editorial links. This directs readers to several editorials from around the country, ranging from Philadelphia to New York to Arizona all the way to several unknown stops along the internet. We featured Jon Kyl's argument against online poker, as well as the thoughts of Daretogamble's "editorial staff".

This site also covered the latest poker hearings on igrea legislation, which took place in Congress on Friday last. Finally, we directed our readers to a Cardplayer article which provided an excellent online casino law summary.
