Paris Hilton Goes Home - House Arrest Instead of Jail

Paris Hilton spent around 3 days in jail.
It appears her time in an L.A. county jail was spent crying uncontrollably. After her psychiatrist visited her two days in a row, he convinced the sheriff's office that Paris was near a nervous breakdown. Other stories mention that she had an apparent medical condition.
With the Hilton lawyer hinting that her stay might lead to permanent psychological damage, it appears the county jail got nervous that the Hiltons were setting up a major lawsuit. So "everyone agreed" to let her go free.
FREE PARIS HILTON
Well, not quite free. The authorities have now placed Paris under house arrest. She'll be fitted with a bracelet for the next 40 days. At least that's the idea. My guess is she "tries" to slit her wrist over the weekend and the courts decide that house arrest is too cruel for this princess.
You'll see her at an awards show or fashion premiere by the end of next week.
What a crock!
Hopefully, though, this is the beginning of the end of the Paris Hilton Phenomenon. That's probably wishful thinking on my part. But with Paris making herself look like a bigger fool than ever, the public might be close to finally having their fill of Paris Hilton.
No. That will never happen.
More likely, Paris continues being America's favorite punchline, with the jokes focusing on her jail visit. She probably gets more attention than ever.
PARIS IS BURNING
Speaking of which, some of the theories about her "medical condition" had me laughing. Besides the usual speculation about vicodin, cocaine and alcohol withdrawals, my favorite was that her emotional outburst had caused her herpes to flair up.
On the other hand, I'm just appalled that I saw someone at that coverage of the press conference mention that Paris Hilton is a role model for young girls out there. That was actually one of the reasons given for releasing her early.
Yeah, we want to teach young girls that if you whine and cry enough, you'll get whatever you want...especially if you have a lawyer present.
Anyway, now's the time to review the Paris Hilton props bets from Bodog. If you want to review the action youself, here's the original Paris Hilton props bet.
How many nights will Paris spend in jail: -1.5 or +1.5?
The right answer was +1.5. It's amazing how close Bodog got on this one. As I always say, the oddsmakers know more than anybody on these things.
How many nights (in specific) while Paris spend in jail?
It looks like the 3-7 nights for 2-to-1 odds was the right answer, though we may have to get the final rundown to see if it wasn't only 2 night at 6-to-5 odds.
Will Paris get into a physical altercation in jail?
By all accounts, that never happened. As we mentioned here, don't bet on it, since she was kept away from the rest of the jail population.
Will Governor Schwarzenegger pardon Paris Hilton?
The answer to this one is no, unless we learn that The Terminator has infiltrated the L.A. County sheriff's office.
