Now You Can Register for Poker Tournaments in Advance
Do you ever go to your local casino to play in a tournament only to find that all the seats are already filled? Do you hate to stand in long registration lines with blowhards and B.S. artists? Well, now there’s a new service that allows you to bypass all the aggravations of registering for a poker tournament.
INTRODUCING PTSeats
PTSeats allows its members to pre-book tournament seats and charge it to their credit card. You must be a member to take advantage of this service, but membership is free.
You can register days or weeks in advance for poker tournaments at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. As they are just starting up, this is the only casino that currently supports the service, but PTSeats’ website promises that they will soon offer The Venetian, The Wynn and The Orleans in Las Vegas. The Hard Rock Seminole in Florida is also mentioned as upcoming.
HOW IT WORKS
Customers are charged a fee based on a percentage of the buy-in for the tournament which the customer is entering. For example, a$300 (+$50) tournament would cost you $14 in service charges. That’s a total cost of $364 ($300 +$50 + $14). Fourteen bucks is a small price to pay to avoid having to wait in a 45 minute line.
Once you register through the service, you’ll receive a printable ticket which you simply present at the casino. Your table and seat number will already be listed on the ticket.
This service is also very convenient because tournament buy-ins have traditional been a “cash only” affair. The additional of paying by credit card makes things all the more simple for the customer.
They’ve even enlisted the services of Phil Gordon to promote the site. Phil Gordon, of course, is the highly respected player and self-made millionaire who has made the final table of numerous WSOP events. Besides lending his image to the PTSeats site, Phil also chimes in weekly with his “Tip of the Week” feature.
