UK to Ban Gambling Advertising
On September 1st, new UK legislation will kick in which will ban around 1,000 gambling websites from advertising in UK territories. This ban will extend to radio, television, newspapers, magazines, taxis, buses, subway, and even some websites. The new law is designed to prohibit foreign gambling sites with insufficient legal bases from attracting British players.
To be considered acceptable, a foreign company must be placed on the white list. To do so, they must prove that their rules are regulations are adequate, especially when it comes to stopping kids from gambling, preventing money laundering, maintaining a fair atmosphere and protecting people vulnerable to gambling (aka gambling addicts).
Online casinos which operate out of the Isle of Man, Gibraltar and Alderney will not need to apply for inclusion on the white list. These companies have been deemed to be in compliance with all UK legal requirements.
