FANTASY FOOTBALL INFO

McFadden Burns - At the recent NFL combine, RB Darren McFadden reportedly ran the 40 yard dash in 4.27 seconds. Wow! I’d say his status as a top-5 pick is officially cemented.

Williamson a Bust? - While the trade won’t become official until tomorrow, the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed on a deal which would send former 1st-round WR Troy Williamson to the Jags for a second-day pick in the NFL draft. Despite loads of speed, Williamson has terrible hands and has never been able to elevate his game to the pro level. Here’s hoping that a change of scenery will do him good.

Bears Sign Another QB - The Chicago Bears added another QB to their arsenal by signing Kyle Orton to a one-year extension. Orton will compete with Rex Grossman for the starting QB job in 2008.

Hackett Moving On - Seahawks WR D.J. Hackett will become an unrestricted free agent this Friday, and it sounds as though he’ll be looking for greener pastures. Despite missing time with an injury last year, Hackett was productive at times, and he could very well become a dangerous wideout for some lucky team.

Kennison Released - The Kansas City Chiefs released veteran wideout Eddie Kennison on Tuesday. Talk about a long time coming.

Colvin Released - The New England Patriots released LB Rosevelt Colvin on Tuesday.

Faulk Gets Busted - Patriots’ RB Kevin Faulk was arrested last Friday for misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Muhammed Signed by Panthers - Looking to add depth at wide receiver, the Carolina Panthers have signed free agent WR Muhsin Muhammed.

Carr Cut - The Panthers have also cut David Carr. His once-promising NFL may be close to over.

Anderson Cut - The Baltimore Ravens parted ways with backup runner Mike Anderson. Expect the powerful and disciplines Anderson to show up elsewhere as a short-yardage back.

Vilma Seeking Trade - Jonathan Vilma, the Jets’ linebacker, has been given permission by the team to seek a trade. While he started off red-hot hot in the league, he has cooled down considerably over the last two years playing in coach Eric Mangini’s 3-4 scheme. If your league has IDP, this might be a great time to snag Vilma.
