Jermain Taylor vs. Kelly Pavlik II - Bodog Odds
Tonight, February 16th, Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik (the reigning WBC and WBO middleweight champ) and Jermain Taylor will square off for the second time in the last six months. The previous bout took place in September of 2007, and Taylor was the champion at the time.Taylor dropped Pavlik in the second round, and the end looked to be near. But the 6’3” Pavlik survived the champ’s onslaught, and Taylor looked to be tiring by the sixth round. In the seventh round, it was all over. Kelly Pavlik was the new champion, and Taylor was left with the task of making the long climb back to the top.
“I took Pavlik for granted,” said Taylor. “I’m very focused for this fight; everything is on the line for me.”
But while Taylor has a chance to avenge his only career loss (27-1-1, 17 KOs), he won’t have a chance to regain the titles. This fight will instead be taking place at a catch weight of 166 pounds. Will the hard-hitting Pavlik (32-0, 29 KOs) be able to beat Taylor in back-to-back fights, or will the former champ regain his status as one of the best in the business?
Tune in tonight and find out.
