NBA All-Star Game - Skills Challenge - Bodog Odds

Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game continues to creep closer, but there’s plenty of excitement to be had on Saturday, too. Not only will the Slam Dunk and Three-Point contests be taking place, but Playstation will also be sponsoring the Skills Challenge.

By the way, I’d advise against wagering on Kobe Bryant in any events. On Thursday night, the news came down that he completely tore a ligament in his pinky finger. While he’s going to try and tough it out during the season, the doctor was quick to recommend surgery. Whether he can play at a high level with this injury remains to be seen, but he claims that he will play in the All-Star game. He will not take part in the Three-Point Shootout, however, and will be replaced with Dirk Nowitzki of the Mavericks.

PLAYSTATION SKILLS CHALLENGE

This event, geared towards ball-handlers, debuted in 2003. Participants are first required to shoot a layup. They must then dribble between three obstacles while sticking to the usual ball-handling rules. The player next makes two passes into a net. The first pass must not touch the ground, while the second is required to do so.

After this is completed, each player must make a jumpshot from 20 feet. Then, they are asked to complete an outlet pass into a third net. And finally, the player dribbles between three more obstacles and ends his turn with a layup.

Four players will be competing in the event, and the two with the fastest times will advance to the final round for a head-to-head showdown.
