Amanda Overmyer Eliminated On American Idol

With the elimination of Amanda Overmyer last night, there are just 10 contestants remaining on American Idol. The biker chick nurse with the crazy hair got the hook during a week when contestants sang Beatles’ songs. Overmyer chose “Back in the U.S.S.R.,” but instead the 23-year-old will be going back to her home in Mulberry, Indiana.

Overmyer was getting 30/1 odds to win the competition by Bodog.

After her elimination, she told Ryan Seacrest (who I wish I could vote off the show), “It’s been a run…No. 11 out of all them people is more than I could expect.”

Carly Smithson and Kristy Lee Cook were the other low vote-getters.

This year’s celebrity mentors were also announced on Wednesday night. They include: Neil Diamond, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Dolly Parton and Mariah Carey.
