Upsets

Friday saw its share of upsets. The biggest came in the form of #12 Western Kentucky downing #5 Drake, #13 San Diego defeating #4 Connecticut, #13 Siena beating #4 Vanderbilt and #12 Villanova triumphing over #5 Clemson. No doubt, this left a lot of tournament brackets in complete disarray.

The higher-ranked seeds went 10-6 on Friday night. Betting the favorites against the line would have netted you a less-than-impressive record of 9-7.

Upsets

Two underdogs triumphed on Saturday, with #5 Michigan State beating #4 Pittsburgh and #2 Duke suffering a shocking defeat at the hands of #7 West Virginia. After last year‘s early exit, it looks as though Duke’s reputation as a tournament powerhouse may be starting to wane.
