NFL Fantasy Football Player News

With just over a month to go until the NFL Draft, free agency marches on. There have been a lot of great moves this off-season, and I imagine things will get even crazier after teams stock up on rookie players at the draft.

Be sure to check out Bodog sports book, as they should be putting up NFL Draft prop bets at any time. Last year, you could bet on who the Jets would take in the first round, which wide receiver would be selected first, and many, many other options. It’s fast, easy and fun.

NFL NEWS AND RUMORS

The Seattle Seahawks signed RB Julius Jones. Rumors are already swirling that great-but-aging RB Shawn Alexander will be cut later in the summer to save cap room.

Warrick Dunn, formerly of the Falcons, has been reunited with his old team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Too bad Mike Alstott still isn’t around, as we could have seen the return of Thunder and Lighting (but much older and less effective).

After weeks of negotiations, the Arizona Cardinals have finally signed WR Larry Fitzgerald to a four-year, $40 million contract. Now if they can only make the playoffs.

The hapless Detroit Lions announced Thursday that they were cutting oft-injured RB Kevin Jones.

QB David Carr has signed on with the New York Giants to back up Eli Manning.

The Houston Texans have signed free-agent RB Chris Brown. He’ll no doubt make a contribution until he suffers his yearly injury.

The 49ers have agreed to terms with WR Bryant Johnson, formerly of the Cardinals. A former first-round pick, Johnson ended up playing a back-up role in Arizona. Here’s his chance to shine.

Oregon RB Jonathan Stewart, expected to be the second back taken in this year’s draft, underwent toe surgery today. He could miss anywhere from four to six months. Looks like some lucky team may get themselves a bargain in this year’s draft.
