NFL Free Agents - News and Rumors

NFL free agency continues to roll right along. Here’s an assortment of news which has taken place in the last week or so. And by the way…be sure and check out Bodog for all the upcoming NFL odds. With the NFL Draft right around the corner, you can bet that they‘ll have some really juicy prop bets.

NFL OFFSEASON MOVES

The Tennessee Titans have signed TE Alge Crumpler (formerly of the Falcons).

The New England Patriots smartly re-signed WR Randy Moss to a three-year, $27 million deal. $15 million of that is guaranteed. This should continue to be a very nice fit.

After 17 seasons, Packers QB Brett Favre has decided to call it quits. He holds any number of records, including (among others): Most Consecutive Starts by a QB (275), Most Career Victories as a Starting QB (160), Most Touchdown Passes (442), Most NFL Passing Yards (61,655) and Most NFL Interceptions Thrown (288). Clear out a spot in the Hall of Fame, and I guess I‘m going to have to get another QB in my dynasty league.

The Oakland Raiders have signed WR Javon Walker (formerly of the Broncos) to a huge six-year deal. There have been rumors that Walker’s injured knee is done. With the Raiders signing him, you can probably count on Walker being a bust. You see, God hates Al Davis (they’ve been feuding since the beginning of time).

The Denver Broncos have signed LB Boss Bailey (formerly of the Detroit Lions).

The Titans have signed 31-year-old DE Jevon Kearse to a multi-year contract. Kearse played the last few seasons for the Eagles of Philly.

Those same Eagles released LB Takeo Spikes today. The 10-year veteran played one season in Philly. The move will save the team $5 million in cap space.

LB Dan Morgan, formerly of the Carolina Panthers, has signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints. Morgan has been plagued with concussion problems during his career, and he missed 13 games with a partially torn Achilles’ tendon in 2007. Hope they got him cheap.

DE Warren Sapp, formerly of the Bucs and Raiders, has decided to retire. He finished just shy of a 100-sack career. Expect to see him on ESPN very soon.
