Free-agent running back Michael Turner (formerly of the San Diego Chargers), has agreed to a six-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Expected to be worth a total of $34 million, Turner will be getting $15 million in guaranteed money.
The Minnesota Vikings have signed WR Bernard Berrian (formerly of the Chicago Bears) to a six-year deal.
Free-agent WR Donte Stallworth (formerly of the New England Patriots) will be heading to the Cleveland Browns after signing a deal. He’ll pick up $10 million in guaranteed money.
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed CB Asante Samuel (Patriots) to a six-year deal worth $57 million. He’ll reportedly make $32 million over the first three years of the contract.
WR Jerry Porter (Raiders) has signed a six-year, $30 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’ll get $10 million in guaranteed money. I’ll bet Porter is breathing a sigh of relief.
The Miami Dolphins have signed QB Josh McCown (Raiders) to a two-year deal worth $6.25 million.
The New Orleans Saints have traded a conditional draft pick to the New York Jets for LB Jonathan Vilma. It’s a fourth-round pick in 2009 that can be upgraded to a third-rounder based on Vilma’s performance in 2008.
The Cleveland Browns have traded a second-round pick for Packers DT Corey Williams. Williams is expected to sign a six-year deal with the Browns worth $38 million.
FS Madieu Williams (Bengals) has signed a six-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings. The six-year contract is estimated to be worth $33 million.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed C Jeff Faine (Saints) to a six-year, $37.5 million contract.
K Jeff Wilkins, the all-time leading scorer for the St. Louis Rams, is retiring.
WR Isaac Bruce, recently cut by the Rams, has been reunited with Mike Martz in San Francisco. Bruce’s contract with the Niners is for two years and worth $6 million.
Denver Broncos’ WR Javon Walker has been released by the team.
Cleveland Browns’ QB Derek Anderson has signed a multi-year deal with the team.
RB DeShaun Foster, recently released by the Carolina Panthers, has signed a two-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers worth $1.8 million.
Free-agent QB Trent Green has been medically cleared to play football in 2008.
Super Bowl coach Tom Coughlin has signed a four-year, $21 million extension with the New York Giants.
