Angels Upset Rangers 7-4 in MLB Action
On Tuesday, The Ballpark in Arlington was the setting for a MLB showdown between the Angels and the Texas Rangers. Unfortunately for Rangers’ fans, their team came out on the losing end, 7-4. This gave the Angels a sweep of their two-game series in Arlington.ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD
Despite falling behind by four runs in the first three innings, the Angels battled back with three runs in the fourth behind Casey Kotchman’s two-run blast. In the fifth, they tied the game with a Garret Anderson RBI single.
While former reliever Dustin Moseley was yanked in the fifth, the Angels ended up using a total of five pitchers to get through the game. In the end, Darren Oliver got the win in relief (1-0).
MILLWOOD GOES DOWN
In the second inning, Rangers’ pitcher Kevin Millwood was struck in the left shin by a line drive from Maicer Izturis. Needless to say, a large bruise soon followed. Millwood gutted it out as long as he could, but he was forced to leave in the fifth inning.
Once Millwood was gone, the Angels took advantage of Texas reliever Josh Rupe (0-1), scoring three runs in the sixth inning thanks to a bases-loaded double by Gary Matthews.
