2008 WSOP Main Event Odds from Bodog

The 2008 World Series of Poker is over…at least until November. That’s when play at the Main Event table will resume, part of the tournament’s new format. Now that we know who the finalists will be, Bodog is offering odds on the eventual winner.

Below is a list of the 9 finalists in the 2008 WSOP Main Event. I’ve also included a little info about each. Remember, the actual tournament starts back up on November 9th, and the maximum bet is $100. Good luck!


Dennis Phillips (3/1) - Account manager for a Missouri trucking company. Has the chip lead, with almost 2 million chips more than the next-highest player. Qualified through a $200 satellite at his local Harrah‘s Casino.


Craig Marquis (10/1) - 23-year-old from Arlington, Texas. Has had one WSOP cash in 2008 and two in 2007.


Ylon Schwartz (8/1) - Has 12 career WSOP cashes and one final table. Before becoming a poker pro, he was a professional chess player.


Scott Montgomery (4/1) - Hailing from Perth in Ontario, Canada, Montgomery has one cash at the World Poker Tour, earning $296,860 for a 5th place finish at the LA Poker Classic.


Darus Suharto (17/2) - Born in Indonesia and living in Toronto, he works as an accountant. Has one WSOP cash when he finished in 448th place in 2006.


David “Chino” Rheem (15/2) - Has cashed in 5 WSOP events, including a final table and runner-up finish.


Ivan Demidov (9/2) - Poker pro from Moscow, Demidov is the 2nd chip leader at the final table.


Kelly Kim (25/1) - Worked as a business analyst before turning to poker. Has 3 WSOP cashes.


Peter Eastgate (11/2) - From Denmark, Eastgate finished in the money at the 2008 European Poker Tour and had a final table finish at the 2007 Irish Open.
