Bodog Sends Three to 2009 WSOP - Bodog Online Poker
Three seats have already been awarded for the 2009 World Series of Poker, and that makes Bodog’s online poker room the first to give away such a prize. The WSOP seats were the grand prizes for Bodog’s recent Poker Mini Series, which was a 25-tournament event similar to the Texas Hold’em games in Las Vegas. The big winners, “didix,” “Boswan,” and “pokerfanx789” were each awarded a $12,000 VIP prize package, and they’ll be able to compete for millions of dollars as representatives of Team Bodog (a group which includes such members as Evelyn Ng and David Williams).
BODOG MINI SERIES
The Bodog Mini Series came down to a final 27-player tournament. These players qualified by either being one of the top four players on the tournament leader board, one of the 18 from the semifinal qualifier or one of five “wild card” players selected through a random drawing. From these 27, a final table of 12 was eventually determined.
The final table was decided on July 10th. Besides the top-three players winning their $12,000 VIP packages, the other nine players also received $109 (which isn’t bad, considering that buy-ins started as low as $10+$1).
Overall, Bodog paid out $107,000 in prize money during the Poker Mini Series, and a total of 3,376 players participated.
