UFC 86 - Full Results and Bodog MMA Odds

The fists were flying on Saturday night, as the UFC held their latest event entitled UFC 86: Jackson vs. Griffin. Sorry this update is a little late, but here are the full results for the card. I’ve also posted a few of the Bodog odds that were available leading up to the fight.

UFC 86 RESULTS

Preliminary Card

(Lightweight) Jorge Gurgel vs. Cole Miller - Miller won by triangle choke submission at 4:48 of the third round.

(Lightweight) Melvin Guillard vs. Dennis Siver - Guillard won by knockout 36 seconds into the fight.

(Lightweight) Corey Hill vs. Justin Buchholz - Buchholz wins by rear naked choke at 3:57 of the second round.

(Heavyweight) Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Justin McCully - Gonzaga wins by Americana submission at 1:57 of the first round.

Main Card

(Lightweight) Tyson Griffin vs. Marcus Aurelio - Griffin wins by unanimous decision.

(Welterweight) Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Lytle - Koscheck wins by unanimous decision.

(Lightweight) Joe Stevenson vs. Gleison Tibau - Stevenson wins by guillotine choke at 2:57 of the second round.

(Middleweight) Patrick Cote vs. Ricardo Almeida - Cote wins by split decision.

(Light Heavyweight Championship) Quinton Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin - Griffin wins by unanimous decision. In a fight which many thought was closer than the judges’ scorecards reflected, Griffin captured the Light Heavyweight title. The decision has many experts and fans calling for a rematch.

FIGHT AWARDS

At the end of the event, a bonus of $60,000 each was awarded to the winners of the following:

Knockout of the Night: Melvin Guillard

Submission of the Night: Cole Miller

Fight of the Night: Quinton Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin

UNDERDOG WATCH

When I originally posted an article about this upcoming fight, Bodog was taking bets on five of the fights. Let’s see how many of the underdogs went on to win those matches.

The final result was 4-1 against the underdogs. The only dog that won was Forrest Griffin, who was a +200 candidate to get his block knocked off.
