WSOP Women - Bodog Odds for Main Event

The 2008 World Series of Poker rolls on, and the lovely ladies of the poker world continue to demonstrate their skills at the tables. Of course, with the WSOP Main Event drawing near, all the women of the poker world have their eye on poker’s ultimate prize. A female player has never won the Main Event, but there are many strong contenders this year who would love to make history.


2008 WSOP FEMALE PLAYERS

So how are the women doing at the 2008 WSOP? Let’s take a look at some of the more impressive finishes so far:


Event #49 (No-Limit Hold’em) - Karen Manfrede finished in 17th place and won $21,889.

Event #47 (Seven-Card Stud High-Low Split) - Margaret Macre finished in 10th place and won $15,593.

Event #46 (Six-Handed No-Limit Holdem) - Joanne Liu finished in 18th place and won $31,781.

Event #35 (Seven-Card Stud) - Sabyl Cohen-Landrum finished in 12th place and won $8,841. It should be noted that Cohen-Landrum was also the highest female finisher in the 2006 WSOP Main Event.

Event #33 (Seven-Card Stud High-Low Split World Championship) - Annie Duke finished 5th and won $73,602.

Event #29 (No Limit HoldEm) - Linda Lee finished 11th and won $24,702.

Event #22 (H.O.R.S.E.) - Jennifer Harman finished 8th and won $30,851.

Event #21 (No-Limit Hold’em) - Kathy Woo finished 18th and won $25,767.

Event #19 (Pot-Limit Omaha) - Vanessa Selbst won the event and took home $227,933. This 23-year-old law student becomes only the 12th woman to win a bracelet in an open-registration event (vs. men).

Event #15 (Ladies No-Limit Hold’em World Championship) - Svetlana Gromenkova won the event and walked away with $224,702.


BODOG ODDS ON FEMALE POKER PLAYERS

Bodog has a few odds posted which specifically deal with the women players at the WSOP. Some are already closed for betting, but two remain which involve the WSOP Main Event.
